Care and Cleaning Instructions

1. Dry Cleaning Recommended:
Due to the delicate embroidery, lace-up detailing, and soft fabric (likely georgette or silk-blend), dry cleaning is the safest and most effective cleaning method.
2. Spot Cleaning for Minor Stains:
For small stains (like the one visible on the skirt):

• Blot gently with a clean, damp cloth.
• Use a mild detergent diluted in cold water.
• Do not scrub or rub harshly, especially over embroidery.
• Test any solution on an inner seam before applying it to the stain.

3. Avoid Machine Washing:
Machine agitation can damage the delicate threads and fabric. Hand washing is possible but only if you’re experienced with fragile garments:

• Use cold water and mild detergent.
• Soak for no more than 5–10 minutes.
• Rinse gently, avoid twisting or wringing.
• Lay flat to dry on a towel in a shaded area.

4. Ironing:

• Always iron on the reverse side or place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the dress.
• Use a low heat or steam iron to remove wrinkles.
• Avoid direct heat over embroidery and threadwork.

Storage Instructions

1. Hang with Care:

• Use a padded hanger to maintain shape and avoid shoulder dents.
• If the dress is heavy, hang it by inner hanging loops to prevent stretching.

2. Breathable Garment Bag:

• Store the dress in a muslin or cotton garment bag.
• Avoid plastic covers which trap humidity and can lead to yellowing or mildew.

3. Folded Storage (if needed):

If you must fold it:

• Place acid-free tissue paper between folds.
• Avoid placing anything heavy on top of it to preserve shape.

4. Keep in a Cool, Dry Place:

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or damp environments.
• Consider placing natural repellents like neem leaves, lavender sachets, or cedarwood near the storage area to protect from pests.
